7 things you didn’t know about your skin

Skin is the most visible and the most vulnerable organ of the human body, and it is anatomically and functionally affected by ageing. Proper caring and protecting procedures may help to prevent and to reduce some levels of the ageing effects.

1) SKIN CELL WILL REGENERATE EVERY 27 DAYS

The epidermis is the outer and also the thinnest layer in our skin, it is responsible for protecting us from the harsh environment. Unfortunately, it is also the public junkyard of our skin universe. Our system will regenerate new cells every 27 days. Dead skin cells will be purged onto the surface of our skin when new cells are restored. Hence it is essential to select the right facial scrubs to exfoliate and to get rid of these unwanted junk from the surface of your skin.

2) BEAUTY IS REALLY JUST SKIN DEEP

The dermis layer, which is deeper than the epidermis layer, is responsible for wrinkles. Here, you’ll find collagen and elastin, the two most important proteins necessary for skin health. When these two proteins are in short supply, your skin loses its firmness and wrinkles will be more visible.

3) FAT IS NOT ALWAYS THE BAD GUY

Subcutis, or better known as the skin’s fatty layer, does more than just conserving body’s heat and protecting your vital inner organs. It is also important because without subcutis, your skin will sag and wrinkles will be more visible.

4) OH COLLAGEN! WHO DOESN’T LOVE COLLAGEN?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body; it gives structure to our skin, bones, muscles, and all the connective tissue. We produce less and less collagen as we get older. So, when the supply of collagen is low, fine lines and wrinkles appear.

5) ELASTIN OR ELASTIC?

Both. Think of elastic when you hear the word Elastin. Elastin is the protein found with collagen in the dermis layer. It is responsible for giving structure and support to your skin and organs. Similarly, elastin too will be deprived by time and elements. The lacking of elastin will cause your skin to sag and wrinkle.

6) WRINKLES, WHO IS THE BIGGEST CULPRIT?

Ageing, lifestyles, diets, environmental factors, etc. there are just so many culprits that cause wrinkles. But the biggest is actually sun exposure. The damage from the sun’s ultraviolet ray leads to photoaging, which causes most wrinkles and other undesirable skin changes. Never leave the house without proper UV cream. You should consider protecting your skin from the sun if you want to look younger.

7) WE CAN NEVER STOP SKIN FROM AGEING?

Yes and no. Many believe that no one can do anything to stop the ageing process on your skin. Even though no skincare product can stop ageing completely, it can be dramatically slowed down. Skin starts to show signs of ageing when we are in our 20s. This is when the production of collagen and elastin slows down, thin wrinkles appear under the eyes, skin defects accumulate into pigmentation spots, etc. In fact, 20s is the best age to start using anti-ageing product to protect our skin and to prevent the signs of ageing.

START NOW. START EARLY.

Let’s face it, even if you’re still in your 20s, your skin has already been through 20 odd years of challenges and has taken a whole lot of daily wear and tear of life.

But most of those who are in their 20s are reluctant to pick up that anti-ageing product from the store. Why is that? Ageing is inevitable, but not doing anything or not using any anti-ageing products wouldn’t help. The main reason we use anti-ageing skincare products is to prevent and defy those signs of ageing. Don’t wait, start early, in fact, start now! Prevent the signs of ageing with Nutox Advanced Serum Concentrate.
